What Is All Stars?

Little League All Stars Program Represent Laguna Niguel Little League with Pride!

Each summer, Laguna Niguel Little League (LNLL) forms All-Star teams to compete in the official Little League International All-Stars tournament. It’s an honor to be selected and an incredible opportunity for our players to showcase their skills, sportsmanship, and love for the game.

What is the All-Stars Program?

The All-Stars program is a post-season tournament where LNLL selects players who have demonstrated exceptional ability, teamwork, and dedication throughout the season. These teams compete against other local leagues and may advance through:

Districts→ Sectionals → State → Regionals → and potentially the Little League World Series


All-Star Teams by Age


LNLL typically fields All Star teams in the following age groups:

9U Team (league age 8 & 9)

10U Team (league age 9-10)

11U Team (league age 10-11)

12U  " Majors" Team (league age 11-12, eligible for the Little League World Series)

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible, a player must

Be league age 8 to 12 (as defined by Little Leagues age chart)

Be on an LNLL regular-season roster 

Have participated in at least 8 regular season games 

Be in good standing with the league (positive attitude, consistent attendance, and strong sportsmanship) 


Selection Process


Players are nominated by the applicable Division Managers and selected based on:

Performance during the regular season

Effort, attitude, and sportsmanship

Commitment to the team

Input from coaches, managers, and league officials



Note:
The selection process varies slightly by age group, but LNLL aims for a fair and inclusive approach that recognizes both talent and character.

Time Commitment


Being part of an All-Star team is a significant commitment for both players and families.

Practices:

May begin as early as mid-June

Tournaments:

Usually start in late June and can run through July or August, depending on how far the team advances

Expect:

Frequent practices and potential weekend travel to nearby cities or regions


Players must be available and committed for the duration of the tournament season.

Q: Can my child still be selected if we have a vacation planned?

A: Availability is a key factor in the selection process. Extended absences may affect a player's eligibility or ability to commit.

Q: Can my child play All-Stars and still participate in a travel team?

A: Little League All-Stars must be the player's top priority during the tournament season. Conflicts should be discussed with coaches ahead of time.

Q: Does everyone get selected?

A: All Stars is a competitive, limited-roster program. Not all players are selected, but all are encouraged to continue developing and having fun with the game.
